ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Delta County families can get a head start on trick-or-treating on Sunday, October 18.
From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Escanaba DDA will host its fourth annual Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat at the Center Court, located at 11th Street and Ludington Street. Local businesses will decorate their trunks and compete to win prizes while passing out goodies.
The event is a partnership with the Teal Pumpkin Project of Delta County, which works to make Halloween safe and fun for kids with dietary restrictions. In addition to or in place of candy, each trunk will offer non-food treats for trick-or-treaters.
“One in thirteen children in our community have a food allergy or other medical conditions that prevent them from eating candy treats,” said event coordinator Samantha Gaudino. “Having an inclusive event like this allows them to be involved, just like every other child.”
Escanaba’s Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat will also feature games and activities. Costumes are encouraged. Click here for additional information.
