Hat Trick for Wildcats at Saginaw Valley State
MARQUETTE, Mich. — NMU women’s soccer player, Addison Frantti, has earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, announced by the GLIAC today.
Frantti had an explosive day against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals on Sunday, as the sophomore forward from Hartland, Michigan, recorded her first career hat trick in a 4-1 win over the 2025 GLIAC Tournament runner-up. Frantti opened the scoring, then added on the ‘Cats third and fourth goals to seal the deal. Frantti played 56 minutes, firing four shots, with all three on target finding the back of the net.
Frantti also played 47 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Wayne State over the weekend, where she had one shot attempt and played in crucial moments down the stretch.
“I am delighted that Frantti was selected!” added head coach Erin Egolf, who has overseen her team go 2-0-1 on the road and outscore opponents 8-2 in this three-game stretch. “She deserves the recognition after her heroics on Sunday. [Addison] is fully capable of scoring goals in a variety of ways, and we saw a fantastic display of that this past weekend. Super job, Addie!”
Frantti now leads the Wildcats in goals and points, with four and eight on the season, respectively.
NMU rounds out its five-game road stretch with a meeting against the Michigan Tech Huskies on Sunday, October 4, in Houghton, Michigan.
