MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Registration is now open for the 2026 Connect Conference, set for Friday, September 25, at Northern Michigan University’s Northern Center.
The conference gets underway at 8:30 a.m. with networking and light refreshments. The day will feature a mix of speakers, breakout sessions, and a panel discussion focused on professional growth, workplace challenges, and building a successful career.
New this year is a mini pitch series, giving three local business owners 10 minutes each to showcase what they offer and explain how their businesses could benefit workplaces in the community.
The day will begin with the announcement of the 2026 Tom Baldini Award winner. The award recognizes a leader who has demonstrated a renewed commitment to community and civic engagement. Nominations are being accepted through September 11 via the Connect Marquette website.
Following the award presentation, Christopher Germain will offer opening remarks on leadership and the importance of authenticity in the workplace.
The morning will continue with a panel discussion, “Workplace Well-Being and Sustainable Performance,” moderated by the conference keynote speaker. Attendees will then choose between two breakout sessions focusing on communication and workplace styles or the role of artificial intelligence in the workplace.
The afternoon will offer two more breakout options. Participants can learn more about collaboration and community engagement or explore why workplace culture plays such an important role in successful leadership.
The new mini pitch series will follow the afternoon breakout sessions and feature:
- Katherine Helppi, a Pampered Chef consultant
- Anton Reinaas, founder of FindLocal906
- Daniel Morgan-Heredia, co-founder of Doozers
The conference will wrap up with keynote speaker Johnny D, “The Motivational Cowboy,” who will share his approach to creating, communicating, collaborating, and living an “OUTSTANDING Life.”
Regular registration is $100. Sponsorship opportunities are also available at a variety of levels, with prizes available through the Premier Level.
