Superior Hills Elementary School unveiled their new playground on September 1, an upgrade from equipment over 40 years old. The Superior Hills Association for Parents and Educators (SHAPE) was awarded an MDARD reimbursment grant for the project.
Several businesses and organizations in the area awarded further grants towards the cause, including Shiras Institute and the Superior Health Foundation.
“It’s very exciting, open house is this week, so we’re really excited for kids to be able to come and see the new playground that they’ll get to play on,” said SHAPE President Kim Doppelt. “We’ve already been here with some friends, and they’re all very excited when they pull up and see the new playground that replaced the one they were playing on last year.”
The first day of classes for Superior Hills Elementary begin on Tuesday, September 8.
