ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The City of Escanaba is making significant progress in its search for a new manager.
Escanaba’s former manager stepped down in May. Following a round of interviews with candidates for the position, the City Council voted to hire a company to help find a new batch of candidates.
Last week, Council members narrowed down the pool of applicants from 15 to their top three. Each one has experience working as a city or village manager in the state of Michigan. The Council held a special meeting to interview those candidates on Monday.
At this time, the Council has not set an official date for when the next manager must be in place. However, Council members have previously remarked that Escanaba is in good hands with the City controller serving as interim manager.
