GARDEN, Mich. (WZMQ) – A 56-year-old man from Garden Township, Michigan, has been arrested and arraigned on multiple felony charges, including weapons, drug, and related offenses.
The MSP Manistique post received information about a suspect who was allegedly in possession of firearms despite being a convicted felon. Investigators verified that the suspect, Bruce Rochefort, was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition due to his prior conviction.
On June 25, police found the suspect in the Gladstone area. Troopers executed a search warrant on his vehicle and arrested him on the spot. During the vehicle search, they discovered a pneumatic gun, an 18-inch double-edged sword, hydrocodone pills, and ammunition in four different calibers.
That same day, officers carried out another search warrant at the suspect’s residence in Garden Township. During this search, troopers seized 39 firearms, which included a variety of rifles, shotguns, and handguns. Additionally, a significant amount of assorted ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and a small quantity of methamphetamine were recovered from the property.
Rochefort was lodged in the Delta County Jail following the seizures.
The following day, June 26, 2026, Bruce Rochefort was arraigned in the 94th District Court on multiple charges including:
- – One count of Possession of Methamphetamine
- – One count of Possession of Analogues
- – Three counts of Weapons-Firearms Possession by a Prohibited Person
- – Two counts of Weapons-Firearms Ammunition Possession by a Prohibited Person
- – One count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon
The court set Rochefort’s bond at $25,000 cash or surety. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 9
