NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A police pursuit connected to a shooting investigation in Marquette ended Tuesday evening when a fleeing suspect crashed into a fuel pump.
According to Michigan State Police, the man matched the description of a suspect in a shooting. He was later spotted by troopers, who attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect attempted to flee. The pursuit came to an end when the suspect’s vehicle struck a gas station pump at the Krist gas station causing a fire. The suspect was then taken into custody and treated for minor injuries. No other injuries are being reported.
Investigators from Michigan State Police and the Marquette Police Department remained at the scene late Tuesday as crews completed fire suppression efforts and processed evidence.
