MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A new smoothie business is making its mark in Marquette – one pop-up at a time.
Island Haven Smoothie got its start when co-owner Stephanie Perrier and owner Abrielle Janson had an idea and ran with it –
connecting with resources, pushing through the early hurdles, and landing at events like the Marquette Downtown Farmers Market.
Perrier says what sets island haven apart is what they leave out.
“We don’t like to add a bunch of extra stuff in our smoothies, it’s basically jus the fruit you choose, and the base you select which could be a juice, a yogurt, almond milk, and more,” says Perrier. “In a couple weeks, we’re hoping to add a few more add-ons people can choose from, such as flax seeds, some chia seeds, or even some protein powder if that’s what people want to add!”
The duo hopes to have a food truck soon, and eventually a permanent location. You can find Island Haven Smoothie popping up at upcoming events around Marquette this Summer.
