MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A new outdoor adventure space is coming to Marquette – and the community is being asked to help make it happen.
The 906 Adventure Team kicked off their fundraising campaign tonight for Gluski Park – a planned community trailhead at 955 North Lakeshore Boulevard.
The property was nearly developed into a hotel, but 906AT stepped in with a vision for something bigger.
Thanks to a match from the Daniel J. Kobasic foundation, every donation is doubled up to 155-thousand dollars.
If all goes to plan, the park is expected to be ready by Fall of 2027.
906 Adventure Team ‘Adventure Director’ Todd Boquette says the space is designed for everyone. “The thing I would stress is that Gluski Park is not a bike park, it’s an adventure park,” says Todd. “It’s a community trailhead for adventure. Whatever your mode of adventure is, it will be welcomed here.”
