MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Kentucky Derby made its way to Marquette tonight, fancy hats and all.
Drifa Brewing Company hosted a watch party for the ‘Run or the Roses’ – with derby wear, a live guitarist, food truck, and the race up on the screen.
Regulars who brought their own mug even collected a commemorative charm to mark the occasion.
For Drifa, its all bout giving their community something to gather around. “Drifa is a co-op, so the members of the community are the owners,” says Lucy Grove, a Drifa member. “We want to be able to have events that the owners can participate in. We want to provide them with a variety of beverages, we want to provide them with a really nice atmosphere where they can come and relax.”
A small but lively crowd, proof you don’t have to be is Louisville to enjoy the most exciting two minutes in sports.
