MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – Marquette Township’s annual Goodwill Christmas tree lighting took place Tuesday evening, presented by MediaBrew Communications.
Due to rain, all festivities were moved inside the Westwood Mall, bringing hundreds to gather for free food, dancing, and a visit from Santa Claus. The Grinch also made his appearance, only to be apprehended by local law enforcement trying to steal the Christmas spirit.
MediaBrew Communications says even with the delay, the weather couldn’t get in the way of spreading the holiday excitement.
“This is the best night of the year out here in the township, and we were a little bummed about the rain, but everybody still brought all that good energy inside,” said marketing executive, Traci Leonard.
The tree is located along US-41, between the Marquette Applebees and Aspen Dental, and will be up through the end of the year.
