ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Last week, Bay College received a response from the Michigan Board of Nursing (BON) regarding the College’s LPN program self-study.
Seven items were identified for Bay College to clarify for the November meeting. The BON assures such clarification is routine, according to a press release from the college.
Though Bay College had hoped to resume the LPN program in January of 2026, fulfilling the BON request will likely delay reinstatement of the program until summer or fall. The College confirmed its commitment to respond conscientiously to all BON clarification requests and is dedicated to the review process.
Dean of Allied Health Dr. Patrick Reinhard stated, “We look forward to submitting a thorough response and demonstrating the strength of our program to the Board.” He added, “The points of clarification are straightforward and can be responded to quickly and confidently. Ensuring our LPN program is strong and successful as we move forward with the new curriculum continues to be a team effort, and each staff and faculty member involved plays a vital role. I am confident that together we will meet this challenge and position the program for success.”
The College’s reply to the request for clarification will be addressed at the next BON meeting in November 2025.
