ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Friday, firefighters responded to a fire near Bark River Knives.
Witness video posted to social media shows fire crews spraying water and foam onto a train on the tracks just past the shop. Escanaba Public Safety and UPHS EMS were at the scene. Some witnesses believe a train car is the source of the fire.
According to the Public Safety captain, such fires are typical when conditions are very dry. Trains can spark “for various reasons” and start grass fires near the tracks.
