MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A medical issue is believed to have caused a driver to strike a Marquette residence.
At approximately 4:40 p.m. on June 1, Marquette Police Department officers responded to a personal injury crash involving a vehicle that drove into a residence on Wright Street. Upon arrival, offers saw that the vehicle had caused extensive damage to the structure.
Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Gwinn man. Two females, ages 12 and 5, were in the vehicle with the driver when it crashed. The driver and juveniles were transported to UPHS-Marquette for apparent minor injuries.
Based on the investigation, the crash is thought to have been caused by a medical issue that the driver suffered while traveling eastbound on Wright Street, shortly before leaving the roadway and striking the residence. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
