MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Thursday the Zonta Club of Marquette held their 4th annual “Honor a Woman” event at Barrel + Beam. The event is one of Zonta’s largest annual fundraisers and helps to fun scholarships and grants for other organizations in the community. The event also honored 17 women who have made a difference in their communities.
“People really really want to honor important women in their lives and continue to want to,” said Zonta Club of Marquette President Joan Nystrom. “They find more women that impact them and their lives and there is an endless supply of women out there that are remarkable in the local community.”
Nystrom said they sold out tickets for the event and it was a big success that they hope to continue in the future.
