MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Wednesday, The Marquette Breakfast Rotary Club and The Marquette West Rotary Club officially united to form the Marquette Harbor Rotary Club.
In recent years, Rotary Clubs and other similar organizations across the country have seen less intake in new members. Locally, Andrew LaCombe and Fran Finley have agreed to merge the two groups and run the new club as co-presidents, combining their members together to achieve the same goals. Finley says having a collective whole makes them a more meaningful and powerful group.
“We each had 38 members and we thought, ‘we’re competing for the same audience of people for attracting new members,'” said Finley. “Together, we can be a little more powerful as a club.”
Future events held by the clubs will remain the same as before, and can be found here.
