MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Black Rock Crossing is a housing development from Woda Cooper Inc. in partnership with the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. It was originally proposed back in 2023 and is now nearing completion.
This morning, developers led a tour of the building for Marquette officials, including the Mayor and the City Manager. U.S. Representative Jack Bergman was also in attendance and said the project represents the importance of collaboration between developers, local governments, and tribes.
“Work with and become a unique part of any community, any geographical area you live in,” said Bergman. “Because God put us all here together and how do we sustain the future, if you will, and it’s because of these partnerships right now that that future will be bright.”
The developers hope to cut the ribbon on “Black Rock Crossing” this summer.
