MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – In an announcement Wednesday, Planned Parenthood of Michigan is announcing the closure of three of their locations.
Their Marquette, Petoskey, and Jackson locations are set to close on April 30, and the last patients will be seen on April 25. According to their press release, the closures are in response to reduced federal funding by the Trump administration and an effort to continue the organization’s long-term sustainability.
President and CEO of PPMI, “The Trump administration and its anti-abortion allies have made clear their intention to defund Planned Parenthood and attack access to sexual and reproductive health care nationwide,” said Paula Thornton Greear, President and CEO of PPMI. “So, while these attacks are devastating, they are not a surprise.”
