ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Tuesday, an Upper Peninsula cannabis retailer expanded its reach to its ninth city, Escanaba.
Higher Love is now serving customers at 421 North Lincoln Road, inside the former Staples building. Special Operations Director Lindsay Martwick says Higher Love has always wanted to open a storefront in Escanaba.
“We know that the community is very warm and welcoming of cannabis and the services that we provide,” she said. “We’re a proud partner to our neighbors in the communities that we’re a part of. We are very proud of the donations we’ve been able to extend to our community partners, and we are proud to be able to hire local residents.”
Higher Love is one of only two dispensaries in Michigan—and the only one in the U.P.—to have earned Clean Green certification. The retailer also offers products that have been certified as organic by the USDA.
In addition to providing a clean product, Martwick says Higher Love aims to provide a unique experience for customers.
“Our mission is wellness and meeting people on their wellness journey and helping them in whatever capacity we can,” said Martwick. “We have all types of shoppers—all ages, all walks of life—and the environment that we create really caters to that.”
Higher Love is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Escanaba storefront will host a grand opening on Friday, April 4, with a ribbon cutting at 8:45 a.m. The first few customers in the door will receive goodie bags.
