ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – A landmark building in downtown Ishpeming has completed a lengthy renovation completes a lengthy renovation
The lake Superior Community Partnership and the Nicolet Bank held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today in downtown Ishpeming. This marked the conclusion of major renovations to the lobby and the exterior of the structure. The Green Bay based bank decided to invest in downtown Ishpeming, choosing to stay on the historic corner rather than move to a new facility. AVP Regional Retail Manager Tia Rodda says staying put underscores their commitment to the community.
“That’s really important to us, being involved in the community, and serving our community. That’s why it was really important to do the remodel here rather than look for an expansion somewhere else; we know how important it is to be down here; we love to be downtown,” said Rodda.
The famous building began as a bank in 1887, when it opened as The Peninsula Bank
