MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Police Department responded to a reported incident involving a firearm and aggressive behavior at the Upper Peninsula Medical Center.
On Friday morning at approximately 10:42 AM, the Marquette Police Department responded to a medical suite at the Upper Peninsula Medical Center (1414 W. Fair Ave.) for the report of an individual in possession of a firearm. It was further reported that the individual was being verbally aggressive with staff.
Officers arrived and contacted the individual inside the suite, and secured the firearm without incident. Officers investigated the incident, and a report will be sent to the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for review. As a precautionary measure, the Upper Peninsula Medical Center was briefly placed on lockdown during the incident.
