ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Although there is still snow on the ground, an Escanaba event is giving attendees an early taste of summer this weekend.
Camping World’s RV Expo kicked off on Thursday at the U.P. State Fairgrounds. RVs from a variety of brands—including Keystone and Forest River—are on display both inside and outside of the Ruth Butler building.
Escanaba Camping World Sales Manager Marc Yander says the event is a fun way to get a head start on this year’s outdoor recreation.
“We’re going to end up running right into our busy season,” he said. “We’re going to be super swamped all the way through the summer. It’s a great time to get to meet our customers and get ready for camping season. We’re excited to meet you guys.”
The expo is also an opportunity to do some good. For every Hero Edition and Rogue sold, Camping World will make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project and Folds of Honor, respectively.
“We’re really trying to build community here,” said Yander.
The RV Expo runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 21, and Saturday, February 22, then from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 23. Admission is free, and food trucks will be on site throughout the weekend.
