MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Tuesday, Northern Michigan University hosted their “Sustainability Summit.” The university showcased events such as keynote speakers from Northern Indiana University, a student led panel discussion on sustainability efforts by NMU students, climate change jeopardy, and more.
This makes way for the Innovation Institute at NMU (SISU) and the “Peak25” conference. Throughout the rest of the week, Northern will host multiple professional development events focusing on sustainability research, connectivity, and entrepreneurship.
“These events are important for our campus community and for the larger community to learn different ways that NMU is working to reduce our energy usage,” said Jes Thompson, the assistant vice president of sustainability at NMU. “The events are free and open to the pubic for people to come and see what we have to share.”
