DELTA COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – Delta County rescue crews saved two individuals stranded on ice near the Ford River on Saturday, February 15.
According to a Facebook post, the Sheriff’s Office airboat and other ice rescue units responded to a report of two people who had gone through the ice just before 7 a.m. The two were able to climb out of the water, and responders found them standing on thin ice roughly two miles south of the river’s mouth.
Ice rescue units transported the two individuals safely to shore. No injuries were sustained.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Delta County Central Dispatch, Delta County Search and Rescue, Masonville Fire & EMS, Ensign Fire, and Rampart EMS.
