SANDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – Icy roads are to blame for a crash in Sands Township Thursday evening.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover crash with entrapment on County Road 480 near County Road NC around 7:21 p.m. A vehicle was traveling west on CR480 when it hit a patch of ice and crashed into the snowbank, then rolled one time before coming to rest in the ditch.
Deputies arrived on the scene along with fire personnel and were able to get the driver out of the vehicle. The 42-year-old female driver and her 15-year-old female passenger were both wearing seatbelts and were uninjured in the crash.
CR480 was shut down for a period of time while the vehicle was pulled from the ditch and loaded onto a tow truck.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Sands Township Fire and EMS, Chocolay Township Police, Goodwin’s Towing, and Central Dispatch.
