MUNISING, Mich. (WZMQ) – A body that washed ashore in Picture Rocks National Lakeshore in early November has been identified as a kayaker who was reported missing in late September.
The Michigan State Police first reported on Sept. 29 that 65-year-old John Kueber went missing while he was kayaking on Lake Superior near Miner’s Castle. Kueber was last heard from on Sept. 22.
On Nov. 8, troopers were called to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore after hikers spotted a body that had washed ashore. The body was not initially able to be identified. Through DNA analysis, the body was identified as Kueber. Foul play is not suspected.
