Smith recorded her fourth kill of the set followed by a service ace from Meyer to keep pushing forward. The dominant early performances from seniors Smith and Meyer led the team to have a commanding lead at 11-2 as they approached mid-set.

Leading 20-9, Parkside briefly showed some signs of life with a 4-0 run, but Caylie Barlage recorded the final kill of the match setting the final score to 25-15 to move NMU to the next round.
