MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Senior High School theatre department is preparing for the opening night of Les Misérables.
The cast and crew were on stage tonight for their last week of rehearsals and set construction before the curtain raises on this classic operetta. Les Misérables is a Tony award-winning musical based on the famous Hugo Wolf novel that tells the story of life in post-revolutionary Paris in the 1800s. The leading man of the musical, Jonah Hardenbergh, believes it to be an inspirational story, with a romantic soul.
“It’s a very moving show. And one of the lines is to love another person is to see the face of God. Love is one of the most powerful things, and this show really talks about how it can move you and become a new person,” said Hardenbergh.
Show times are Friday and Saturday, November 9 and 10, at 7 p.m. with a matinee at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
