MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ)—Queen City Running Company held its 9th annual Trick or Trot run on Saturday morning. 500 participants lined up to run either the 5 and 10K or the monster mile.
After runners finished their race, they were invited to the after-party at the Ore Dock Brewery. Along with snacks and drinks, the main event at the after-party was the costume contest.
This annual community event donates half its profits to 2 benefactors every year, this year the Negaunee Booster Club and the J.J. packs, each receiving about $1,500. Queen City Running Company also mentions the amazing support from local businesses like Ore Dock Brewery, Donkers, Provisions, Huron Mountain, Marquette Food Co-Op, and Marquette Nutrition.
“Ya, it’s our biggest year yet so we’re really excited about the growth of this event and it’s just a family-friendly one and we’ve gotten great weather the past couple of years,” said Paige Dubus, Queen City Running Company Co-owner.
This event is a chance for one more race to close out the fall running season as well as add some fun with costumes. Information on next year’s Trick or Trot can be found on Queen City Running Company’s website as well as information on any future events.
