ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Sunday, October 20, Downtown Escanaba will be filled with Halloween fun for all children.

The Escanaba Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and Teal Pumpkin Project of Delta County are partnering for the second annual Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat. The event will take place at the Center Court, located between the DDA and RRN Media Plaza at South 11th and Ludington Streets, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition to candy, trunks will offer non-food items for kids with food restrictions, allergies, or other conditions that often make trick-or-treating a challenge. The event will also include games, photo opportunities, music, and a pumpkin decorating contest.

“We’re encouraging all of the little kids to decorate a pumpkin and bring it on down from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. that day,” said Samantha Gaudino, community coordinator for the Teal Pumpkin Project. “We’ll also have cash prizes for trunk participants as well, and 300 teal pumpkins to give away for all the kids to collect their goodies.”

There is still time for individuals and businesses to register a trunk for the event. To sign up, visit escanabadowntown.com/trunk. For more information on the Teal Pumpkin Project, click here.
