MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Marquette man is facing multiple felony charges following a domestic violence incident this week.
In a press release sent out by the Marquette Police Department, it details 23-year-old Adrian Tello had refused to let his girlfriend, a 20-year-old Negaunee woman, from leaving his home while he repeatedly assaulted and strangled her. The assaults took place over multiple days.
Police were notified when they were called to UPHS-Marquette Intensive Care Unit on Monday where the woman was receiving care. Officers served a search warrant on Tello’s property where they were able to find more evidence of the assaults.
On Tuesday, the 96th District Court issued a four count arrest warrant including two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, one count of torture, and one count of unlawful imprisonment. Tello was arrested on Wednesday and was lodged in the Marquette County Jail.
