Negaunee, Mich. (WZMQ) – Negaunee’s pioneer days continues for one more day– ending with one of the biggest events: fireworks over teal lake. Workers have completed construction of the barge that will be the launching point of Saturday’s show.
The city manager Nate Heffron says people should plan to arrive early to get a good viewing location, but cautions spectators who plan to park on us-41.
“it’s a dangerous road to be on during the fireworks. people can be distracted very easily. please watch your children or your animals so you don’t have them running around. try to be down in this area. it’s probably the safest location even if you park up on the highway. lots of people like to watch the fireworks here in the guardian. we just want to make sure that everyone that is here watching them are safe.” Said Heffron
The pioneer days fireworks plan to start around 10:30 Saturday night
