Negaunee, Mich. (WZMQ) – As part of our ongoing coverage of Pioneer days in Negaunee, we bring you to Pasquali’s annual drive-in cruise and car show held Wednesday evening.
There was plenty of shiny chrome, bold paint jobs and nostalgia to fill a parking lot. Part of Negaunee’s Pioneer Days includes one of the largest gatherings of muscle cars in the area. Pasquali’s drive-in and cruise attracts gearheads and classic car fanatics from across the region all showing off their Detroit muscle. Over 100 cars, trucks and motorcycles lined up for inspection and introspection about days gone by.
Second generation car guy Brad Hallum brought his gorgeous 53 Ford Victoria to the show. He enjoys bringing back the memories of cruising the boulevards and hanging out at the drive in.
“Putting smiles on people’s faces and interacting with them, it brings them back to a different era in time that they remember,” said Hallum. “To me that’s what I really enjoy. You know, it’s just talking to people and re-living those memories with them.”
The show was open to any make, model or year vehicle. For many, these beautiful, and expensive toys remind them of cars they drove in their youth. Stan Hough is very proud of his 1964 Chevy Corvair Monza, a rare automobile, and a great conversation starter.
“It’s fun getting together with all these car enthusiast and be able to just share stories and your problems we’ve run into, fixes we’ve had it’s just a good community to be part of,” said Hough.
After every hood had been looked under, every tire kicked, and every paint job envied, the group took to the streets in a parade that wound through Ishpeming and Negaunee, delighting spectators along the route.
