MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Lake Superior Theatre (LST) kicks off its summer season in The Boathouse on Tuesday night with “Escape to Margaritaville,” a musical featuring the music of Jimmy Buffet.

LST will have two other musicals this season, and will be working with Superior Shakespeare for Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Later in the season there will be a presentation featuring Jack Deo and Jim Koski covering some of Marquette’s “Legends and Lore,” which Petra Frazier, LST’s production manager said is a part of their mission.

“History is actually our mission, that’s why we were founded in 1999,” said Frazier. “So that’s our mission is we continue to provide history to the community, and it’s just a fun way of doing it and also showcasing local historians.”

Escape to Margaritaville will run from July 9-13 and July 16-19.

The full schedule and link to tickets can be found on LST’s website.
