NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Multiple people were transported to UPHS-Marquette for treatment after a traffic crash involving a car and a motorcycle on Tuesday night in Negaunee.
The Negaunee Police Department responded to the crash at approximately 10 pm on US-41 in front of Dollar General in the city.
The motorcycle, driven by a 38-year-old male from Marquette, was traveling east on US-41 when a Dodge Journey, driven by a 36-year-old male from Ishpeming had pulled in front of him attempting to enter into the Dollar General parking lot, and was struck by the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to UPHS-Marquette for treatment, as well as a 5-year-old female from Ishpeming that was in the backseat of the car that was struck. The driver of the car was treated on the scene for his injuries.
The driver of the Dodge Journey was at fault in the accident by failing to yield the right of way.
The Negaunee City Police Department was assisted on scene by the Negaunee City Fire Department, the Michigan State Police, Ishpeming City Police Department, Marquette County Sheriff, UPHS EMS, and Anttila’s Towing.
