MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum is helping make Marquette a little prettier.
Tomorrow for art week, the Children’s Museum is holding “Paint the Downtown With Love” fundraiser.
Community members of all ages are invited to the Marquette commons to grab paint and a brush and cover the sidewalks with art.
Anyone who participates also has a chance to win prizes for the best art in adult, children, and family categories.
Jessica Hanley, the museum’s executive director, said it’s a great way to get families involved in art week.
“Having our little piece of art week where we can really involve the kids and families in a fun way I think is why people keep coming back,” said Hanley. “It’s just a nice way to come out. You can spend 20 minutes, you can spend two hours, whatever you want and whatever amount of time you have to do it.”
Paint the Downtown will be tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to participate.
The Children’s Museum will provide art supplies.
