NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Multiple fire crews are on the scene of a house fire in the City of Negaunee early Friday evening.
Few details are know at this time, but a WZMQ reporter on scene says the home is at 535 Cherry St. Our reporter says there were no visible flames when she arrived around 4:30 p.m., but heavy smoke was coming from the second story of the home.
Neighbors tell WZMQ they called in the fire around 2:30 p.m. and no one was home at the time.
WZMQ’s reporter says fire crews had the fire extinguished just before 6 p.m. and were clearing the scene.
There is no word on any injuries or the cause of the fire. WZMQ 19 will update this article as we learn more information.
The Negaunee Fire Department, Negaunee Township Fire Department, Ishpeming Fire Department, Marquette Township Fire Department, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, and Negaunee Police Department were all assisting at the scene.
