MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The farmers market is in full swing in the U.P. and this week will kick off the Wednesday night Farmers Market in Marquette on June 19th.
The market is in it’s second year in the downtown area, as it used to be in the Marquette commons. Approximately 40 vendors will be in attendance at the farmers market selling everything from baked goods to art and clothing. The farmers market is hoping to bring out the crowd for another season of fresh fruits, veggies and entertainment.
“It was mainly locals who didnt have time on Saturday,” says Brian Shier, farmers market manager for the Downtown Development Authority. “It also created an opportunity for the stores to open up laters and for people to shop there as well.”
The farmers market will start on Wednesday, June 19th from 5-8pm
