MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Michigan Elk Club held their annual Flag Day ceremony, where a couple celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. This ceremony combines Marquette, Ishpeming, and Negaunee’s elk clubs.
The ceremony is mandatory for all elk members to attend as it shows respect for the flag veterans have fought under. The couple are elk club members and have shared the anniversary with Flag Day proudly, they shared.
“One of our daughters went to school, and when she was in first grade, she told the class we celebrated Flag Day ’cause it was our anniversary” Elk Club Members.
