MUNISING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Beginning June 10, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore’s Au Sable Light Station tours free of charge and offered seven days of the week for the summer of 2024.
Following public comments about the fee, the National Park Service decided to make this guided tour free.
The light station tours are about 40 minutes to an hour long and will include a mile-and-a-half guided hike to the light house, the ability to tour the grounds and climb to the top of the light house to learn about the lens, and look at the view from the top.
The Au Sable Light House is located 12 miles west from the Grand Marais.
