MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly held an event Wednesday in partnership with McDonald’s to celebrate the fast food chain’s limited-time treat, the Grandma McFlurry.
Little Brothers volunteers took a small group of seniors to the Marquette McDonald’s to treat them to the sweet dessert.
Little Brothers is a national organization whose mission is to support elder adults by fighting loneliness and isolation.
“We are very pleased that McDonald’s has identified our national network and the LBFE mission of relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly as a part of the Grandma McFlurry story,” said LBFE Upper Michigan Chapter Executive Director Carol Korpela.
In honor of the occasion, McDonald’s also made a donation to Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly.
