MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The 11th annual Iron Range Roll Race took off with 317 riders starting at Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum and ending at Barrel and Beam. The race raised $10,000 in the past 2 years for the Marquette YMCA youth program.
There is no age limit or requirement to participate and all bikes are welcome besides e-bikes. From grandmas to grandsons, everyone can join.
This race was started by Connect Marquette 11 years ago, with the purpose to support the youth in the area and the local YMCA. Which they have, and hope to continue in the future.
“Over the past few years, it’s been very successful for us so we plan to continue to do it in the future and hope to expand our donations to the different youth programs and groups that provide them,” Dan Korhonen, Iron Range Roll Race Chair.
