MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – Brookridge Heights Assisted Living is bringing back memories for its residents and helping them make some new ones by holding a “senior prom.”
The special night for residents and their friends and family had an “under the stars” theme.
It was just like the residents’ first senior proms from the music, all the way down to the hors d’oeuvres.
Brookridge Heights Executive Director Jennifer Legault said these events have a great impact on the residents.
“Their short-term memory may not be fully intact,” said Legault. “But, their long-term memory, those memories from their past , from their high school, from those things, those are very much present. So this is kind of meeting them where they’re at and the impact on that, huge.”
Brookridge Heights plans to continue its “Making Memories” series with a picnic and family barbecue later this summer.
