GLADSTONE, Mich. (WZMQ) – At approximately 4:15 am on Thursday morning, a report of a structure fire on Delta Ave. and 13th St. in the city of Gladstone.
Troopers from the Gladstone headed to the location to assist Gladstone Public Safety, when they determined that the residence was an assisted living home named “A New Dahn Rising.” Troopers could see flames from the south side of the residence, and were able to observe flames starting from the foundation of the building going all the way up the residence.
Troopers also observed a subject inside the residence near the south side door where the fire was, and quickly made the decision to enter the residence.

As they were doing that, smoke began to fill the house and the fire made its way through the rear of the residence.
Officers from Gladstone Public Safety and MSP Troopers were able to successfully evacuate all residents without injury.
Upon getting them out of the building, Delta County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and assisted in getting the residents across the street to safety as the fire began to engulf the south side of the residence.
Additional Gladstone Public Safety officers arrived, as did the Escanaba Township Fire Department, to begin fire suppression. The Red Cross was contacted and assisted at the scene as well.
