MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A holiday coming up in just a few months is looking for your support. This Saturday, starting at 7 PM, the Marquette Area Fourth of July Committee will be hosting its Pump Up the Booms kickoff fundraiser at the Ore Dock Brewing Company, all to help support the Fireworks Show.

Along with an online auction featuring different items from local businesses, the event will also host local bands and comedians to perform. The Committee mentions that each year they continue to feel grateful to the people throughout the UP, as the show is still, a community-funded show.

“That’s why we have fundraisers like these so you know get you a little bang for your buck go out and have a cocktail go out and listen to some music and get something in addition to the fireworks, but again just being completely 100%, self-funded show we start our fundraising the day after the fireworks for the following year ” commented Marquette Area Fourth of July Fireworks Committee Chris Durley.

The event is for 18 and older folks and is free to attend.
