HARRIS, Mich. (WZMQ) – One of the Central Upper Peninsula’s largest employers is hosting an event for those looking to “cash in” on a new job opportunity.
The Island Resort & Casino in Harris will hold open interviews in Club 41 on Wednesday, April 17, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
According to Human Resources Director Candie Holberton, The Island employs more than 800 people throughout the year. She says there is a wide range of full-time, part-time, and seasonal work available in a variety of departments.
“Oftentimes, people think we are just a gaming facility, which we are not,” said Holberton. “We have two championship golf courses, Drift Spa, Splash Island Waterpark, a hotel, a lot of dining amenities available, and there are opportunities on our maintenance crew and in our Pro Shop. We have employment perks like 5% employer contribution to 401k once you’re eligible, full-time employment health insurance, paid time off opportunities, employee discounts, and so much more.”
Interviewees are invited to bring a resume, but it is not required. Managers will have applications on hand that can be filled out during the event.
