Iron Mountain, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Green Spot Cafe, formerly known as Blendz, has found a fresh home at the downtown intersection of 95 and US-2, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the beloved juice bar.

Co-owned by Marilyn Fisher, along with her son and daughter-in-law Dave and Yvonne Slattery, this family-run establishment has revamped its identity, offering healthier food options in a vibrant sit-down location. “When we moved, we decided to call it the Green Spot Cafe, because we’re now open for a nice little breakfast, and we have lunch. And we have some sit-downs. We have everything now, I mean, something for everyone. We’re not just health food, but we try to do food healthier,” shared Marilyn Fisher, expressing her enthusiasm for the cafe’s evolution.

The new spot maintains its commitment to fresh juices and juice cleanses while expanding its menu to include a variety of breakfast and lunch options, alongside a deli section. With an emphasis on quality ingredients and healthy alternatives, The Green Spot Cafe promises a unique dining experience. “You know we don’t deep-fry, we use all fine ingredients, and we just use the freshest vegetables and fruits we can find,” Fisher emphasized.

For those seeking a rejuvenating cleanse, the cafe offers tailored juice cleanses ranging from 1 to 3 days or more depending on what a person is comfortable with. “It resets your body,” Fisher explained, highlighting the rejuvenating benefits of their cleanse programs.

The cafe’s new location also brings expanded beverage options, including Italian sodas and a variety of rotating juices. “We have an Italian soda that’s a lemon soda that’s from Italy,” Fisher shared.

Excited about the move, Fisher expressed gratitude for the community’s patience during the transition. “It took us a little longer than we anticipated, and you know people have been so patient. We wanted to have them get their juices, and it just took a little longer,” she acknowledged.

Now situated at 302 S. Stephenson Avenue in downtown Iron Mountain, The Green Spot Cafe invites patrons to enjoy their offerings Tuesday through Friday from 8 am – 4 pm CST, with Saturday hours extending until 2 pm. Breakfast is served until noon on weekdays and all day on Saturdays.

Reflecting on the cafe’s relocation, Fisher expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m just really excited to be here. I love the location; it’s nice, we’re visible. So now we’re out in the open, and we have sit-down, and we’re just quaint. You know, just a little cafe.”

As anticipation builds for the grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony, scheduled to take place in about a month, The Green Spot Cafe looks forward to continuing its tradition of providing wholesome fare and warm hospitality to the community. For those eager to sample their offerings, orders can be placed ahead for pick-up by calling The Green Spot Cafe at 906-396-1888.

Imagine never having to pay property taxes again. The proposal would eliminate property taxes statewide, allowing homeowners and businesses to own their land without any ongoing government fees. But with property taxes funding everything from schools to public safety to roads, the big question is—where will that money come from? The plan calls for a bigger slice of state sales tax to be redirected to local governments. To help cover the gap, the petition also shifts 10% of state income, marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco tax revenue to cities and counties. sot Opponents OF THE PLAN worry it could jeopardize local funding. The petition is now gathering signatures for a spot on the 2026 ballot.
