MARQUETTE, Mich (WZMQ) – Being prepared helps prevent missing events, and with a big event like the solar eclipse coming up, you wanna make sure you have the proper eye wear. When watching an eclipse you need specific eye protection to combat the sun against your retinas. However do not forget to take them off once the sun is fully covered so you can actually see the eclipse.
A local Northern Michigan University student saw this opportunity and took advantage of it. Knowing the eclipse was coming and people needed protection, he started selling glasses on his own, “A way to kinda help people cause most people forgot there even an eclipse, I kinda like to tell people, hey this event is coming up not gonna be another one for another 40 years kinda sets them up to enjoy it I think”. This started as a financial move and turned into a way to let others know and educate them.
There are multiple places to purchase glasses one being WNMU on campus, and little tip you know they work if you can not see anything through them, no light at all. Get your glasses and do not miss the big day.
