NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Residents of Negaunee and Ishpeming were still clearing out the heavy blizzard that carried through Thursday morning. Several road commission workers were hauling truckloads of snow off the sidewalks and side streets following the Wednesday blizzard.
Workers mentioned that the snow is heavy and packed down. Residents said a majority of the roads are plowed for travel but are still working their way through uncovering parked cars. “Normal April storm heavy, wet, fills in everywhere. I didn’t think we we’re going to get this much I looked at the weather and figured we were going to get a little bit more rain but it’ll all be gone in about three to four days, I mean 40s and 50s for the next week,” commented Negaunee Resident Josh Niemela.
There are still mounds of snow getting hauled out of the sidewalks, with some areas piling 3-4 feet.
