ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Escanaba eatery is featuring a new menu item inspired by a customer for Restaurant Week in Esky.
Rosy’s Diner is one of several downtown restaurants running specials for Restaurant Week. In addition to the fan-favorite corned beef hash, Rosy’s is featuring a breakfast poutine.
The breakfast poutine is made up of crinkle-cut fries, Wisconsin cheese curds, homemade sausage gravy, chopped bacon, and two eggs. According to Rosy’s owner Andy Fields, a customer ordered a variation of the dish about a month ago. The staff decided to put their own spin on it, and Fields says it has already become a popular order this week.
“We have a great relationship with our community,” he said. “Our customers are our heartbeat. I take any ideas that we get from our customers and I try to work it into this place if we can, and it’s worked out real well for us.”
Fields thanks the Escanaba DDA for publicizing Restaurant Week in Esky and supporting local restaurants.
Restaurant Week in Esky continues through Saturday, March 9. For a full list of participating restaurants and their specials, click here.
